Glenrothes 24YO Hogshead

24 year old Glenrothes. We had assumed that it was refill bourbon maturation (paperwork was simply ‘Hogshead’ and there were no identifying marks on the cask to provide further clue). We are now having second thoughts. Whether it is sherry or bourbon, it is distinctly Glenrothes and a mouthwatering one at that! One of Rachel’s favourites to date. This is one juicy dram!

Nose
Red apple, watermelon, curry base spices, green tomato, stewed red fruits, dark chocolate, marzipan, nutmeg, cinnamon, toasted nuts

Palate
Plums, milky coffee, salted caramel, gooseberry, chocolate orange

Finish
Delicate white pepper, orange peel, clove, ginger, star anise, high cocoa content dark chocolate
